I’m feeling very inspired by my two Starlette dolls (Sylvia Natterer – Petitcollin).  So much so that, after making the little outfit for Jade the other day I searched on the internet for a hat pattern, feeling she needed something to complete her summer outfit.

Je peux vous dire que mes deux Starlettes (Sylvia Natterer – Petitcollin) m’inspirent beaucoup.  Tellement que, après avoir fait la petite tenue pour Jade, j’ai cherché sur l’internet pour un patron de chapeau.

I found a very easy crochet hat pattern on Zhaya Designs. Originally written for a crocheted doll, I adapted things to make a hat to fit Jade, and also made up a small band in fabric to match her trousers.

J’ai trouvé en crochet, chez Zhaya Designs.  Ce patron est écrit pour une tête plus petite mais je l’ai adapté à la taille de Jade, et j’ai ajouté une bande du même tissu que son pantacourt.

Once Jade was all kitted out, I picked up my knitting needles and a ball of coral pink cotton yarn, to make a tunic for Luella, as well as a pair of summer trousers to go with.

Une fois que Jade était toute belle pour l’été, j’ai repris mes aiguilles à tricoter en main, et du fil coton couleur « corail » pour tricoter une tunique pour Luella. Puis un peu de couture, et un pantacourt pour Luella aussi.

I deliberately made the tunic a couple of rows shorter than the first one. And made Luella’s trousers a slightly different fit to Jade’s.

Pour la tenue « rose », j’ai tricoté la tunique un peu plus court, et j’ai modifié la coupe du pantacourt.

Don’t they look pretty?  /   Qu’elles sont jolies!!!

I did also crochet a hat in pink for Luella, but since I don’t want to undo her hair, it doesn’t fit . . . so will be worn by one of my other dolls when I’ve finished weaving in ends.  I’ve been having so much fun with these two dolls.  It’s probably about time I did some more sewing/knitting/crochet for my other dolls.

J’ai également crocheté un chapeau pour aller avec la nouvelle tunique mais avec ses cheveux en queue de cheval, ça ne va pas à Luella, et je ne veux pas défaire ses cheveux.  Pas grave . . . ça ira à une autre poupée.

I can’t resist a bargain, and when I saw that Borntobekids was having its summer sales, and they had a Starlette Jade (Sylvia Natterer – Petitcollin) for only 55€ . . . well, it didn’t take me long to make up my mind!

Je ne peux jamais résister une bonne affaire, et quand j’ai vu que Borntobekids avaient leurs soldes d’été, et une Starlette Jade (Sylvia Natterer – Petiticollin) pour seulement 55€ . . . et bien il ne m’a pas fallu longtemps avant de me décider.

She came wearing her Petitcollin outfit:  cotton bodysuit, dress, stockings, poncho, bronze coloured shoes and a headband.  I soon whipped all that off and set to work to make her something with a more summery feel to it.

Elle est arrivée dans sa tenue de Petitcollin:  un body, une robe, bas, poncho, chaussures et un serre-tête.  Trop habillée pour moi, alors je l’ai vite déshabillée et confectionné une tenue un peu plus estivale.

And then, of course, she had to meet Luella, my other SN Starlette doll.

Et puis, elle voulait rencontrer Luella, mon autre Starlette SN.

Luella on the left is dark-skinned, brown-eyed and has quite wavey black hair with curls all around.  Jade is light-skinned, blue-eyed and with a short fair bob.  They’re both Starlette dolls so have exactly the same face & body side (measuring 44cm) but I get the impression Jade is a fraction taller.

Luella, à gauche, a la peau foncée, des yeux marrons, et des cheveux noirs et très ondulés.  Jade a la peau plus claire, des yeux bleus et une petite coupe au carré, cheveux blond naturel.  Elles sont toutes les deux des Starlettes donc ont le même visage et corps (44cm de haut) mais j’ai l’impression que Jade est légèrement plus grande.
