It’s been a long while since I posted here. No excuses – just busy with other stuff.  However, some recent sewing for dolls motivates me to share some photos. Sewing session prompted by a rather versatile pattern that was Pixie Faire‘s « Freebie Friday » the other week.

J’ai un peu délaissé ce blog ces derniers mois.   Alors, je viens vous montrer la dernière couture, suivant un patron qui était offert sur Pixie Faire l’autre semaine. 

I don’t have any 18″ AG dolls but figured this should fit my 48cm Sylvia Natterer Finouche dolls.  And, because I didn’t have any sweatshirt or fleece type fabric in my stash, I just cut up what I had to hand: old Tshirts.

Je n’ai pas ce modèle de poupée dans ma collection, mais je pensais que ça devrait aller à mes Finouches (48cm) de Sylvia Natterer – Petitcollin.  Je n’avais pas de tissu sweat non plus . . . mais j’avais quelques vieux Tshirts, donc du tissu jersey, pour faire des essais. 

For my first attempt, I lengthend arms & body slightly, but didn’t need to.

Pour mon premier essai, j’ai rallongé la manche et le corps . . . il n’y avait pas besoin.

Rather pleased with how it turned out and surprised it was so easy to sew. There’s no back-fastening on this.  It’s a « pull over the head » garment which explains why the cowl neck needs to be so loose.

Trop contente du résultat!  Il n’y a pas de fermeture dans le dos, le sweat s’enfile par dessus la tête, comme un vrai vêtement, ce qui explique pourquoi le col doit être si large. 

For my second attempt, I used something more girly. And think the cowl collar looks prettier turned down.

Pour mon deuxième essai, j’avais un débardeur de fille.

And for my third attempt . . . I combined two fabrics.

Et pour le troisième, j’ai combiné deux tissus.

I really enjoed sewing these tops and still have a few old Tshirts I can cut into to make more . . . which is good, since I have 2 other Finouche dolls wanting to join in the cowl sweatshirt fashion parade.

J’ai bien aimé mes séances couture, et comme il me reste du tissu jersey, je vais en coudre d’autres.  Ce qui tombe bien parce que j’ai encore deux poupées de 48cm.
